I cannot conceive of a reason to upgrade a working tool that I rely on in a highly public job without extreme paranoia, and IMHO Panasonic being paranoid is what you want to see, even if it is frustrating. My usual policy here is a new computer every three years or so, install all the latest stuff, and keep the old one intact and in use until I am happy with the new rig (Usually about year after I build it). The release of a shiny new thing, be it OS, Hardware or application is absolutely NO good reason to touch shit that is working, especially shit that you rely on pay your mortgage, just don't go there. I do a lot of fairly high end CAD at work, and will as policy stay at least two YEARS behind whatever gets released (Including OS releases) because I cannot afford for that shit to act out, or for the product to have replaced old familiar bugs that I know how to work around with shiny new bugs that I may be unaware of. This happened 3 times in a row and then I got worried. HOWEVER, when I tried to back up my USB (as I've always done), my laptop shut down and restarted. When Sonoma came out, I decided to upgrade:Īnyways, as I loaded up RB and all my music from the back up onto my new M2 Sonoma, it all worked fine (I don't use performance mode). Stupidly I didnt even think about the new OS even though I am pretty militant about not really updating my RB unless absolutely necessary. Will share my experience using an new M2 Macbook Pro.
